As self-confessed nutrition junkies who adore good food, it didn’t sit right with us that words like ‘healthy’ and ‘wholesome’ were being used so widely to market restaurants without any back up.

That’s why we created BEN’S, which stands for Balance, Energy, Nutrition and Sustenance. Created by chefs, approved by nutritionists and backed up by macro nutritional data, BEN’S serves hand-on-heart-healthy food and drink – even if it tastes so good you don’t believe it.

The thing is, if you eat well, you feel good.

Importantly, that includes kids, too. We have two boys, both under five. Once you have kids, you realise there aren’t a lot of healthy options out there that they’ll happily eat. Our boys are BEN’S official taste testers; if they don’t like something, it doesn’t go on the menu.

OUR VISION

Providing people with healthy, nourishing food that actually tastes good takes cred. Not the kind of cred you get from 10,000 likes on a smoothie bowl post, but the kind that comes from being a certified nutritionist or bona fide chef.

Absolutely everything we serve is cooked on site to specially-formulated recipes, including our range of low-carb, gluten-free and organic sourdough breads, buns, pizza bases and English muffins. Each dish we’ve created – down to our itty-bitty seed mix – harks back to the same idea: we do the science, ingredient sourcing and cooking to make healthy eating effortless.

We place as much importance on using whole, unprocessed and natural ingredients as we do on offering something for everybody (that means you, vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free folk). No chemicals. No hormones. And certainly no preservatives. Forget food fads and drink trends, what you put in your body should look good, taste good and feel great. It really is that simple.

We obviously take healthy eating seriously, but deliciousness is just as important. Our food has to taste as good as it is for you. If you want a burger, have one at BEN’s. And if you want fries with that, order some with us – they might taste naughty but we promise it’s all good.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

If you haven't figured it out yet, BEN isn’t a person. BEN'S is an acronym that represents what we stand for.
Let us break it down for you:

Our bodies work best when powered by nutrient-dense, natural ingredients. All the health professionals and peak bodies say so.

With that in mind, we developed our menu from the ground up under the strict supervision and guidance of a qualified nutritionist. And almost everything we make is prepared by hand in our own purpose-built kitchen. Where we aren’t doing it ourselves, our suppliers are under strict supervision. It’s the best way to manage what goes into our food – and what goes into your body.

KEEPIN IT GREEN

We know that feeding people has a tendency to rub Mother Nature up the wrong way. That’s why we go the extra mile to minimize our carbon footprint. BEN’s only uses locally sourced, pesticide-free ingredients. Our eggs and meat are always free-range, living it up at the stress-free farm equivalents of Club Med. But that’s not all we do.

PACKAGING

It’s not just about the food, but also what we serve it in. Our biodegradable packaging is made from sustainably sourced renewable and recycled plant-based materials. It can even be composted when you’re finished with it.

WASTE & RECYCLING

The whole BEN’s Supernatural process of eating and disposal ends the way it should – with recycling and proper waste management.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Most of our furniture and fittings are made from recycled or up-cycled materials. Handsome and sensible? You betcha.
